Duo Shum live at the Jardin Musical

Shum (шум) is a duo formed by Canadian-Ukrainian pianist Anastasia Rizikov and French-Russian cellist Lisa Strauss. The word shum, which means “noise” in French, evokes the Slavic origins of the two musicians and the repertoire they defend. For this concert, the duo offers a musical journey into the folklore of Eastern Europe, Central Europe and the Balkans. From Fazil Say to Szymanovski via Lyssenko, Schnnitke, Arvo Pärt and Shostakovich, Shum celebrates neighboring cultures, at the crossroads of East and West.
